Lowering?

I want to go with the biggest rim and tires possible. I have a 2002 530i. The problem is I want to lower it at some point but want rims/tires first. I probably should lower the car first and then put tires/rims. Am i thinking right on this one? Cause if i go and spend the money on rims/tires and than lower it it might rub tires. Please any advice is appreciated.

I would lower it first then do wheels/tires, unless you absolutely must have a certain wheel/tire setup (width, etc.) and are willing to work your suspension around that.
