after reading about it I'm once again not that impressed. I do find though that "...and the underbody panelling have all been redesigned. " is a good reason to look at it if you are looking into building a race Mini.
Otherwise it's a bit (sorry) 'riced' out.
Just wish JCW would get serious about actually putting together a killer package. There are enough true track enthusiast to produce a car like Porsche did way back in the day with the RSR.

this i know. I'm tryin to decide if i want my dealership to have a few of these. I'm looking for reasons to get or not to. Yes it does look a tad riced out. The HP#'s aren't that impressive and the color IMO isn't that great. But it is the last of the 06 model year. And with the new body and engine right around the corner, JCW won't be be introducing an upgraded turbokit for at least 9-12 months.
So I'm just tryin to see what I should do, and what people really think.

I would be interested, but it would really depend on what the price ends up being. As far as I know the US price hasn't been announced yet.

D-E30,
I look at this car with the same thoughts as the MC40. Not ENOUGH difference to warrant the price. Granted, the GP has 218 bhp and the MC40 was stock 163 bhp, and the MC40 cache was based on nostalgia and not performance. But, on what I believe to be the negative side, the GP is the last of a "series" and I don't think *most* prospective buyers will see that as a "plus".
To that add the fact that the new MCS will have a twin-scroll turbo (and other performance-related goodies) and, perhaps, more potential for performance modifications, and you may find that only the "supercharger purist" performance market will be GP fans.
I know I am taking a rather harsh view of the GP, but the "triple-eights" (+8 hp over std JCW, and 88 lbs weight loss) just don't impact me enough. Of course this is MHO and YMMV.
How well did your dealership do selling the MC40?
