A friend of mine recently totalled his 1998 E36 M3 with ~102k miles on the odometer. The insurance company offered to let him buy it back so he asked me to post this vehicle up here for him.
Here are the details:
Car is currently located about 1 hour North of San Francisco
1998 E36 M3 in Arctic Silver
103k miles
Stock options include:
OEM rear trunklid spoiler (cracked in accident, I believe)
HK system
Manual transmission
Vaders (not sure if heated, powered, etc.) but it looks as if they're gone
Aftermarket mods and "upgrades":
Welded Oil Pump Nut
ZKW, 5000k DDE w/ Laminex
2 sets, XTEC 5000k HID (H1 bulb)
Depo Crystal Fogs w/ Laminex
UUC Evo ssk w/ DSSR
UUC Red Tranny Mounts w/ Enforcers
X brace
Authentic Hamann Pedals w/ dead Pedals
AA Gen III Exhaust (don't know condition or if useable)
GC RSM
ECIS intake
Kamei Eyelids
Bilstein Sport Shocks, H&R Sport Springs
Eibach 26/24mm Swaybars Front/Rear
If he can get significantly more for the parts themselves, he MAY be willing to go that route. Otherwise, it's the first person to offer $4k or more.
If you have any questions, please do NOT PM ME!!! or email me since I wouldn't be able to answer your questions. Contact "joshdds" as this is his car.

Yep, he's fine. No injuries. He told me it took some time to crawl out though. I think it looks much worse than it really is.
they will to part out?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
My eyes......I think I'll go :bawl cry now.
That used to be my car - I bought it from the original owner. I owned it from 2001 - 2005. Josh emailed me a few days ago and told me about the accident, but I hadn't seen the pictures. Thankfully, he told me he's doing fine and wasn't seriously injured in the crash.
By the way, it's Arctic Silver, not titanium. Also, anyone considering buying the drivetrain out of this car will be thrilled - this particular car put down 226 hp at the wheels with just an intake. It was much stronger than my current M3. In addition to the welded oil pump nut, it also has a baffled oil pan.

Looking to sell the car COMPLETE for now. Unless I get a TON of offers for the parts. I (as well as the owner of the car) just don't have time/space to deal with this.
If I WERE to actually part it out, however, I'd keep the exhaust for myself though. ;)

Anyone want to tell the story of how it got into that shape? Make excellent learning experiences for all (also might give some insight into what sort of shape the parts you cant see are).

Don't let anyone hit your rear bumper on the freeway during heavy rain while they change lanes behind you making you spin out 180 degrees, sliding off the road facing traffic and having your exhaust act as a pole vault launching you into the air flipping the car 1 1/2 times onto your driver side landing into a little puddle of mud. What's amazing is having 4 HID's pointing at you on the side of the road and not one person stopping. gotta love good samaritans

I can vouch that from 60,000 - 92,000 that drivetrain freaking kicked ass. I'm sure it's still the same. It still bums me out to see the car in that condition.:(

I'm glad that your friend is ok........I lost too many family members and friends to car wrecks.........The latest accident involved my cousin, he ended up on life support, but functioning independently now. (thank God). He did suffer permanent brain damage--but the good news is that he was crazy before the accident and now's he's sane.:eyecrazy

4k is a decent deal on the car. I got my 95 donor car for 4k, but it had a few more useable parts on it. Not much though. This would be a good pickup.
