What do you all think about the statements that pretty soon there will be Minis all over the place, as common as PT Cruisers...something that was novel when it first came out but is pretty blah now?

I like uncommon cars, but that isn't the main reason I want a mini. I want a mini because it seems to 'fit' me. It seems as perfect for me as my old Honda CRX was me. Small, economical and fun with just enough practicality thrown in to be a great every day car.

At worst, the Mini will be like the CRXs...there are a lot of them still out there, running great...but it wasn't ever a car for everyone, because they were 2 seaters and a LOT of people like HUGE cars....

Anyway, I was just curious as to what y'alls thoughts were.

I think that i read somewhere that Mini is only sending 20,000 to the US. So I think that is pretty limited. The car is ofcourse being slated for an all class car, so who knows. That is what the aftermaket is for, that way we can make it our own,

Numbers will be limited over here in the states. So hopefully it won't be a common car like Accords or Integras.

Well, I figure that even if the numbers weren't limited, that lots of people prefer land barges. So that would elminate the large car/large family sort. At "worst", we might see them like CRXs, and that never bothered me when I drove a CRX. So I am not too worried, but it I DO like the 'odd-ball-car' factor.

Take a look at the past annual sales volume for the PT Cruiser, and your mind will be set at-ease.

odd-ball-car factor?? i dont know what you mean :)

i think the mini will be similar to the new beetle in sales although i draw no other comparison...at first there will be few that garner much attention...then, every spoiled daughter will have one at her high school or college---pretty soon theyre fairly common although maintain a loyal following of "mini-purists"
