My tranny is giving out, I decided to change the filter and fluid to see if that would help. It improved very well, no more poping out of gear during hard turns or hard stops and smoother shifts but I notice something quite good, the mpg have gone up by almost 30 miles (use to run 250 miles per full tank) now around 280.
the tranny is still not all fixed and I think that I could get a great mileage if only I had a new manual tranny in my car :( Damn why is it so hard and expensive.

Dude I've got a five speed in my 325 and get just over 250 miles to tank. But I just discovered a small fuel leak which got fixed so I'm hoping for a few more miles. Anyhow 250-280 miles on an auto is not bad.

Do you drive the car like it's stolen?

These cars do even better on the open road. On a 300 mile trip, I used under ten gallons.

how many miles did your tranny have when you changed the fluid and how many does it have now? did you flush it also? im curious because people say if you change the fluid on a high milage auto it will break on you.

Argh! 27 highway, 27 city or 27 combined. I'm curious what your city only milage is. Also is this from the OBC or your own calcution?
TIA
