I am selling my green on tan 740i. It has 109,998 miles on it. The engine still pulls hard and does not exhibit any sign of rough idle. The water pump, thermostat, oxygen sensors, heater core, and crankshaft sensor have all been replaced. The stock catback exhaust rusted out as well, and it was replaced by a custom system with a dual tip DTM style Magnaflow muffler. That being said, here are the known issues which warrant the "fixer upper" label.
1. The tranny is failing
2. There is a slight leak in the gas tank
3. There is a small coolant leak somewhere in the cooling/heating system
4. The tilt feature on the sunroof does not work (rest of the sunroof is OK)
5. A foglight bulb is burned out
6. Minor rusting on the inside bottom of the doors -- no exterior rust
Reconditioned and warrantied trannys can be had for pennies on the $tealer's dollar at autosportsunlimited dot com or at phoenixhardparts dot com.
I am asking $1500 for the car. I've also got some other goodies for sale along with the car, if so desired: E.A.T. performance chip (never used) $200, summer tires (70% tread left) $230, 3.15:1 LSD (never installed) off a '90 750iL with 77k $300.

yes, the car still moves. it made it to syracuse and back not too long ago without problems. the tranny likes to hesitate its upshifts. it will retain the lower gear when it would normally shift up. it'll happen around town, and also on the highway, but it can be remedied by putting the tranny into snow mode. additionally, it'll slip when in reverse and the engine revs climb past 1000rpm. oh yes, the car is in watertown.... not much farther upstate you can go ;)

hey i got a couple of questions
have you identified exactly where the gas leak/coolant leaks are?
if so, does the whole gas tank need to be replaced or is it lines or what?
for the coolant leak is it also hoses or is it the block?
also any more pics?

sorry, i don't know that offhand, i would assume somewhere between 1200-1700 if I had to make an educated guess

it is the gas tank itself that is leaking. BMW said the entire tank would have to be replaced. I am fairly certain that the coolant is not leaking into the block. The only time I have to top off the coolant is during the cooler/cold months, which indicates there is a small leak, probably due to a poor seal, somewhere in the heating system.
I've posted some more pics as well

The car has been sold. Thanks to all of those who expressed interest. The summer tires, chip, and differential (see bottom of original post) are still available if anyone is interested.
