Well, unless you want to buy my oem dual exhaust to let your choked 323 breathe, then turbo or s/c your 2.5L; buy the 330 if you can :D

i test drove a 330ic yes it was a coupe not convertable the (ic) it was an automatic with a sport mode tiptronic shift.. comparing it to my 5 speed 323is, i would smoke the crap out of an auto. but the 6 speed 330i would be the best bet, plus convertables are heavier but it attracts more pussy.. lol
to me the e46 is more luxury than sport. thats why i bought a e36, plus i saved like 15 grand... it all depends on what you want from it.
