Well before my car blew its head gasket about 6 months ago i put octane boost in it (0-60) and personally it was one of better/cheaper performance products i have used i also added a fuel cleaner in while i was filling up the tank (92) and between 4k-6.5 rpms the engine ran smoother, quicker, better then it had while i had it.

My freind has a 1995 prelude with stock h22 engine and intake and exhaust ( non v-tec:shifty lol) but he did it and has realize a huge difference as well in the performance of his engine in high rpms and even in low rpms everything was just smoother He also did fill up his car with 92 octane even tho his car only needs 87 that day.

I see threads on this site all the time about CAi, JC chips, shark injectors ect ect ect.... and so far 0-60 Octane boost has been one of the cheap helper outs for my car and my freinds so why dont more people do this its only about $5-6 a bottle

I am i like frying the enigne or something or.. did i re-discover something good

I have no idea what you're talking about...

octane boost :confused

Higher Octane gas only allows for higher compression or FI. It doesn't actually add power.

so so true...omg so many people dont realize this.
also if your putting 100 octane boost mixing it in with your 1/4 gallone of 91 octane then your getting 93octane..... as stated by super street.
if you have 180whp using 87 octane and you put in 114octane you will still have 180whp. Now with that said higher octane will help you add more boost/advance timing/run higher compression/ect. (without detonation to your motor) which in terms will give you more hp, but higher octane alone will not gain you any hp.

also if he has the h22 engine then its a vtec version the non vtec is the 2.3 h23 motor.

srry iam not honda knowledgeable ..... but i never said anything about horse power gains.... i just said feels as if your car is performing (" performance") better then ussally not like by adding octane boost iam suddleny pushing 10hp extra everything is just smoother try itand tell me things dont seem to be running cleaner and smoother

it could be that you were running to low of octane before, and with the boost, your car (and that prelude) is performing how it should be:cool

not exactly, you have to first actually use the right octane for that to be true. our cars were made for 91 octane. You could see gains using 91 octane verus 87, and you SHOULD use it (there are e36 m3 dynos with 87 and 91 octane that prove it). And higher octane also allows for increase in spark timing, and without the right octane, our cars does have knock sensors that could retard timing which equals to lower power.

i love the octane boost addicts :D

it does take a person that understand how a motor/compression works to understand the effects of octane though so...
