I am going to be buying some new tires, and I have been looking on the tire rack website. I currently have P225/60 R15 95H michelin pilots on stock rims. I really cant afford new rims right now, so I want to get some fairly good all season tires. I will probably be able to buy some new rims before my next set of tires, but for now I will be sticking with the stock ones. So my question is: can anyone recommend a good all season tire that will feel sporty? I drive pretty aggresively (I just cant keep my foot out of it) This is my first bimmer and I want to maximize my driving experience. Also, do I need to stay with the same size tire, or are there other options that can go on the stock rim? any help is appreciated.

That would be the tire I suggest. H-Rated and $73/tire. Check it out and you will probably concur the same.

There are always better tires for the $$$, Did I mention 60k mileage warranty, directional tread, actually a real all-season tire compared to the ASX which has traction at low temperatures. Its also a different category... And the ASX isn't available in that size. Instead Kumho makes the srappy Touring Plus.

I'm running those traction t/a's on my 328is with stock rims. They are pretty sweet for an all season....I haven't had any problems with em. They have good traction and pretty decent in the snow. I think they are pretty good bang for your buck.

I'm running the Yokohama Db's on my 750iL. They are very quiet when cruising, great in the rain and respond very well to aggressive driving.

DB v2s are available in the 225/60/15 size. However I doubt they will be AS good as the BFGs in wintery weather. Being in Denver, figured that might be slightly more important. Also a 60k mile warranty... Although I swear I don't work for BFG

There is nothing that takes the place of dedicated snow tires for wintery weather. I assume anyone living in snow country has a set, or another vehicle for the bad days.

I will look at those tires you all suggested. should I stay with the same size of p225 60/r15?
can a different tire size (width), be placed on those stock rims? or should i just stick with this size.

The stock size will work. The limit with most BMW's is more limited by the driver than the tires. I've Auto-x'd my 740 with the stock Conti's and placed in the middle of a couple of 5 series. Not too bad for such a large car.

I'll recommend BF Goodrich KDW - Sports...I've had them on for 1/2 a year...and not a bad tire for the money. My wear has been excellent as well.
Edit: I don't see snow where I live...so I can't comment on snow traction ;)

KDWS's are decent they also have a "snow groove" on the inside. All the customers I put into tractions love them. Some do complain of a harder ride, but what do you expect with a stiffer side wall. They wear like steal too. I guy at the store has almost 80k on a set he put on his sentra
