Hey guys, im getting some new rims, they are 18X8.5 et40. I have an e36 (98 328is) with stock suspension. I asked around and one guy said 225/40 is the ideal set up, and another dude said 235/40 is the best set up. Any thoughs on this? Which is better? What differences will is see between the two? Will the wider tire make any noticable difference? Can you guys help me out here?
Thanks

245/35/18 Better yet. Thats what I am running on a slightly lowered susp and its excellent. If you go narrrower than 245, the tire will not look right IMO. I love how my 245/35 look/feel/perform. Great response and handling. P.S. What wheels you going with?

Hmmm, 245s........I might look into that. I'm gonna get some CSL reps, they are pretty sweet. I'm gonna get em off ModBargains.com.....pretty good deal. Won't the 245's rub at all?

Hankook Sport K104 Y rated. I am working on year 2 now and wear is OK. They nead rotated bad though. The high camber has made them wear kind of qwik. BUT, for $140/tire I have no complaints.....It may also be attributed to my DESTROYED tie rods lol

I agree 245/35 fits and looks good. No rubbing. of course offset will matter with what ever wheel/tire setup.
