Why the heck is my tires rubbing?? I was with the intent that these will have no problems. Even with my Drop. I am currently on H&R race/KONI sa's. I believe my alignment is slightly off. MOre tire rub on the driver side then passenger side.

Im on ASA 18x8 in Front. Tire rub only in FRONT.
Any suggestions??

I can post pics. Do you guys think it could just be from alignment? Or is it always going to rub with my suspension setup?

i dont know if its alignment or not, but im on 225/40/18 in the front with a pretty serious drop, also H&R race and i get no rub at all, im also pretty sure that my wheels are also 8inches wide

That is odd, perhaps the offset (stick out farther) is the reason some get by with that size and a drop and you don't. Seems like a logical explanation.

What offset are you running? are you sure your wheel liners aren't sagging severly?

well, the rubbing is on the actual lip not the liner. the fender lip. the offset should fit with asa ar1's.. Im guessing Tirerack has the presets set right... hmmm thats really strange

I guess let me rephrase, in mm what is the offset of your wheels. Are you using spacers, have a BBK?

Tirerack doesn't preset the offset, that is built into the wheel, and it could be a mistake that TR sent you the wrong offset...

IIRC, ASAs were out of stock in a certain finish, and the setup should be:
18x8 ET40 ~24#
18x9 ET45 ~23#

Just look at the inside of your wheel and find the offset for yours.

can you explain the numbers? I looking at my invoice and for the 18x9 it says 5-120 ET45 and the 18x8 say 5-120 ET40

I not using any spacers. just bolted right on.

I guess I should go double check to make sure they are right.

I did check them and they are ET 40 in front.

I notice the passenger side is rubbing a little to now. ONly in one spot pretty much right in the middle of the Fender well, but the driver side looks like it is slightly rubbing all around the fender(or atleast most of it).

yeah i have the same problem in my 325i
i'm running h&r sport springs with 18x8.5 inch OCWheelWorks AC Reps. 225.40.18's all around. The rubbing only occurs on the front passenger side wheel well. The rubbing only occurs when i hit a bump while turning right. I have learned how to purfectly coax my car over right bumps without scraping, but i still plan on getting my fenders rolled
hopefully that will fix my problem....

Well I got the alignment done and I think it fixed my driverside rubbing now it still rubs on the passenger side. Not sure what to do now.. I had my tires at 38psi and put them down a bit.. I doubt that will do much, but I think I may live with it or get the fender lip pulled a bit. I dont think rolling the fronts will do much since there isn't that same type of lip as the rear fenders.

I have some 18x8 Bretyon's w/ 225/40/18 all around with eibach sportline springs..and i experience the same exact BS in the front. Never had any problem in the rear, and am actually throwing 255/35/18's on next tire change in the back...but for some reason my front tires (mainly the passenger side) rub when i turn them over a bump, or make a hard/fast U-Turn. I was wondering if theres anyway to angle them (camber? i think?) so that they tuck in a little more...I only rub in the middle of the wheel well, and its on the fender, not the lining....I might end up just going w/ 225/35/18 in front if theres no other way..maybe a slightly lower profile will be just enough :/ ALSO - rolling the fronts wont do much..its only the rears that really benefit.

they should be at 32. or is there a reason there at 38? personal preference?
