My Check engine light has been acting VERY weird. So i used a friends PalmPilot with OBD2 system scanner. Hooked it up. And viola, four codes. Now the fun begins. The codes would appear and disapear every second or so. So it was hard to read. At idle the throttle was at 18%, and the idle would jump from 500 to 750 and back every once in a while.

Im pretty sure its the ICV.

Now, as for the codes, TWO of the codes were identical. I dont remember the number but it said "Fuel Trim Bank 1". I dont remember the other two codes... one of them said No Description. I forgot what the last one was. It had something to do with a Bank 2.

Anyways, im gonna scan the car again tomorrow to see if anything changes. What do you guys think?

Get it scanned with a Peake Tool for our cars. I'm sure someone down there has one to borrow or rent. Check with your local BMW club chapter. I don't like those generic OBD2 code readers much.

Well i got it scanned about a month ago at a mechanics shop. It showed two O2 sensor failures, Fuel Rail 1 failure and something else.

The fuel trim message refers to the adjustment of the mixture on the basis of the output of the O2 sensors. Y9u probably need new sensors.
