I bought my 325is (coupe) as a toy almost a year ago. It was a well worn daily driver, True Miles Unknown. It had 230k on it, ran good, but the suspension was shot.
I started with an oil change, front brakes, then did the stainless steel lines. Next was Eibach springs and new Bilstein Sports, then solid rear M3 trailing arm bushings in the back, after I put a LSD from my first parts car into it. After putting 16s on it, I took it to the track and realized the front needed more work..some cosmetic, some suspension.
replaced a bent spindle, added offset solid rubber M3 bushings, upper strut tower reinforcements and an "ebay performance" upper strut bar. I removed the fan, added an alum. thermostat housing, lower temp thermostat, and a lower fan temp switch.
As time progressed, I removed all the stuff from the trunk, all the soundproofing, the rear seats, the carpet, etc, probably pulled 150-200lbs from the car.
Next on the list is a CAI and JC chip from my inbound parts car. In the next month or so, I'll probalby be adding a low mile 2.8 (converted to OBDI) and a lower mile trans to the mix. I've been putting off paint, but now that nothing on the front matches colors, I'm considering paint. I'm trying to make a DE at the end of Feb, so I'm thinking a rollbar, seats, and harnesses.
Thoughts? Critisism? Ideas?
