So I checked the compression out on the "new" 96 328i and I got the results.
#1 (closest to fan) - 225
#2 - 226
#3 - 225
#4 - 235
#5 - 235
#6 - 226
Plugs were nasty but I replaced them w/ NGK BKR6EK.
Plug cylinder #5 had oil, needs valve cover gasket.
How are these reading for a 96 328i w 109k.
Thanks

I had very similar readings but they were a bit closer together. Apparently our numbers being that high is very good I've heard.

4&5 seem fractionally higher..
maybe a decent run with a de-coke addative might help a little?

I've searched and come up with nothing on this engine. I think it maybe a little high?
Anyone????

Those numbers are EXCELLENT! And very uniform. Whatever you're doing to maintain your car, keep it up!
Mine were at 200 or only slightly above, at 135k, '97.
But would get #5 checked out. If a new gasket is needed, the sooner the better. Wish i had known sooner about mine. I burnt the gasket between cylinder 4 n 5 soon after discovering just the tiniest touch of oil on plugs 4 n 5.

I had 225-230 across the board with 125k miles! What does it mean when I have higher compression numbers? More power can be made?

The numbers are good. What you really look for is the difference in the cylinders. There should no more than 15% difference between the lowest and highest cylinder. Of course there are obvious things. One or or more cylinders really low. 2 cylinders really low next to each other, could be a head gasket. But yours looks fine.

Those sound good to me! Mine were slightly lower @ 130,000 back when I had my e36.
