1 BMW IPOD adapter for sale. $50 local pickup only. I'm in the Clairemont Mesa area.

This was intended to be used in an e46, but may work with other models as well. White cable is used but works great, and other parts are brand new. This adapter won't work with navigation equipped systems. After doing some research, I believe it is for use with OEM Business CD head units that have a SRC (Ipod and sirius ready) button instead of a CD button. You really should find out if it works for your car first since I've never used one and just have a lazy old e30.

The part number on the box for the whole adapter kit is:

65 11 0 409 342

Inside the box, there is some module type part that has its own p/n aswell (65 11 0 392 131), but I'm pretty sure it's still part of the kit you'd get with the number above.

Looks like it will only work with 3rd gen and up ipods with the dock connecter type plug.

Is it a power adapter? or will it let you listen to your music in the car?

If it lets you listen to your music in the car, is it an FM transmitter or is it wired? If its wired, does it let you control the ipod from the deck? Does it charge the ipod?

It's a factory piece, so it only works with OEM systems. Specific compatibility, I'm not sure. Yes it charges the ipod and lets you listen to music. However, once plugged in, I believe your IPOD just displays 'BMW' on it and can't be controlled from the ipod itself. Much like when you have your IPOD plugged into your computer and it says 'do not unplug'. Once plugged in, you control everything from your oem head unit. I have never had a chance to use one or see one in use, so I don't know the pros and cons.

One cool thing is that most people route the cable into their glove box. That way they can just plug in the ipod and leave it in the glovebox out of sight when parked. Plus there wouldn't be cables everywhere to even show you have one.

This guy seems to have a better idea of usage: http://www.motoringfile.com/2004/07/19/the_ipodmini_connector_reviewed

I really have no idea. You might want to find out in one of the other sections of the forums from someone who knows specifics.
