trying to gauge interest for a car i made an offer to buy with the intent to re sell it, or keep it, i love cheap clean cars, especially bimmers.

if there is interest at around 1200 to 1300 dollars for the car as described, i will buy it. it is a "price buy" but i have a thing for e30's and this is an 325"is" with recaros, lsd, ect, so if its clean i probably wont pass it up. I just wasnt sure how people feel about a e30 with over 200k miles...........or atleast one for a "price"

the car i am going to look at is a 87 325is tommorow that a lady is offering for sale. i have called her a couple times and got a pretty good description her car.

black with tan cloth seats, very clean(or so "she" says)

she is the second owner and bought it from her lady doctor friend at 225k miles(right when the odo broke)

the body and paint are 100% original except for some minor paint work on the driver rear quarter panel. factory front spoiler.ground effect is not 100% intact, go figure after 240k miles.

car come with full service history and drives tight.

may need front brake pads......well, im sure a 240k mi car needs more than that but...

i figured if it was clean and ran tight it would make someone a sharp driver for 12 or 1300 bucks.

anyone in the DC area lookin for a cheap clean E30?

i also have a 87 325i vert with 140k, red/black stick, $2400 if interested.

no pics:( ....yet.....she didnt have a camera, which is the only reason the car is still available(well that combined with 200k plus miles). Nobody has even come to look at the car, which is good, because the good buys sell to the first looker, makes sense huh, i never forget to ask poeple that question.

i will put up some pics tomorrow, like i said, if the car is clean and tight, it will be impossible for me to refuse buying it.

plus ive been driving around my 87 325i vert, which drives suprisingly tight, so i should be able to gauge it pretty well by a quick test drive.

i guess i cant go wrong with it for the money, so i will post back tomorrow evening with pics and a better description.

I'm interested in buying it off of you, if you decide to flip it, depending on the condition once you see it. Shoot me a PM with whatever you find out.

Thanks.

bad news, the car was not as described, just wasnt very clean at all, poor body repair on a couple panels. Some people just cant tell the truth when describing a rough car, fear of loss (of sale) i guess? ontop of that it wasnt an "is" which pretty much ruined any value i may have placed on a 200k plus mi bimmer.......F'in women, only good for one thing.....

however......i just rolled past my nieghborhood(fair lakes, ffx co) and there is a white 325is with a for sale sign, i will go smoke it over today, maybe shoot a pic and call the owner if it looks like a winner.

my 87 325i convertible is sold.

damnit, 0 for 2. i went to take a peak, i assumed it was a 325is from a distance, but it is a 318is, pretty clean though, nice paint, body, and interior(clean leatherette recaros) 175k miles(TMU, odo works on and off, but 90% on), 15k on engine rebuild, new cat, aftermarket wheels that looked okay, tires looked a liltte weak, but ireally didnt look it over to well becasue i figured i wouldnt be a buyer......but i did call him and ask him a few questions. he said he was looking to get around $3k, mid $3k's but would maybe take $2500, maybe worth that if you are specifically looking for a clean 318is. i did take couple pics if anyone is interested, go here:

i saw another 325is on CL for 2800, red/black, TMU as well with broken odo that reads 75k miles estimated 110k actual miles. go to craigslist.org, click washington dc,cars and trucks, and search 1987 or 88? bmw.

Not yet, but I haven't really tried to sell it other than that one posting on CL. Right now it is sitting under a car cover. I may keep it. Who knows.
