It's a real classic though. 1981 528i (E12). Went to Vero Beach last night (2 hrs away) at the spur of the moment. This just came up on autotrader online 2 days ago and thought it was too good to pass up. only $750!!!

link to the autotrader ad (http://autotrader.com/findacar/vdetail.jtmpl?car_id=108963216&dealer_id=&certified=n&max_price=1000&start_year=1982&end_year=2003&address=32792&search_type=used&make=BMW&model=&min_price=0&distance=200&advcd_on=n&advanced=n&color=&car_year=1983)

Roommates truck motor grenaded and wanted a new toy to drive until he finishes putting a 5.0 into his ranger (tow vehicle). He'll eventually turn the BMW into a track only car, but will retain the nostalgic flava. The guy who he bought it off of had it for 8 years. He also has an E34 530 and a very clean and sweet 320. A real BMW enthusiast who keeps his cars very clean. Anyway this 528 is unbelievable for the price. Started right up and drove home without any issues whatsoever. As a matter of fact the roommate actually took it to 120mph no problem. Very little rust (considering the guy lives right on the east coast). Power sunroof, windows, locks, all work. Got a euro front bumper for it too. This is going to be a fun project to work on.

Are those BBS RXs? If the car winds up being a basket case (unlikely given your description) he might be able to sell those wheels for about half what he paid for the entire car.

Who keeps a 1981 528i in that kind of condition?
