oOOOOOook! so my stepdad said he wanted to drive the m3 and see how it felt, first thing he does is plop in the drivers seat ((hes pretty big guy)) and the first thing he says is "Oh i think your seats broken, i saw it tilting to the right before i got in" whatever, im pretty sure he broke my drivers side vader. :sh1a
so now it tilts to the right, the plastic bucket on the back is hanging off, and it creaks when taking corners or accelerating, oh and not to mention when i take hard left turns i have to hold myself into place or hold on for dear live on the steering wheel. the plastic bucket holes are broken so screwing it back on wont do anything.
i need some help, should i fix the vader? or get a new one? im also planning maybe to do a custom red/black leather vader re-upholstering job in the future, or just getting some cloth vaders. :help what to do, what to do.

Is having him buy you a new one out of the question? Or is he denying it?

he's denying it, and he'd rather kick me out of the house for a month again instead of pay.

What a bitch. Can you take any pics of visible damage? Might be easier to determine after seeing those.

I suggest pulling the seat out. Try to see if some kind of clip broke. But make sure not to break it even more. Im guessing its replacable. Not sure though. Good luck.

im gonna take off the back tomorrow hopefully if i have the tools here then i should get a better idea of wtf is going on with it. i am like 40% sure the seat frame might be bent causing the tilt to the right.

Completely off topic - Your cupholders look strange. I've never seen one with the change part in the middle.

Nope. I've only seen a handful that have the coin holders in between the cup holders. Mine doesn't.

Uhhh....you know you can move the cup holders/coin holder to where ever you like:stickoutt . They're made to pop out and in so you can set em up how you want.

Seconded pull the seat out and disassemble the back.
It's not that hard, but requires a torx driver, thin regular screwdriver to get the side release off the post and a little patience.
Hard to tell from the pics if just the back panel has been pulled loose, but if you're physically 'falling back' to the right, he may have cracked a weld in the seat-back frame. You'll be able to see once you've got the back panel off. And the leather comes off very easily, too. Just a bunch of tangs that the leather loops over.
Good luck and let us know what you find.

Not mine. Both of mine are molded as one piece. The only portion that is removable cup 'doughnut' and the coinholder will remove if you break it :).
crappy pic but you can see where it is molded as one piece (sitting upside down):

I learned something new, didn't realize there were different center sections.

My center console is movable in my m3, my 325 didn't have them.
That seat is easy to get out, might want to get some help though.. those seats are 'effin heavy. I marred my panel in my 325 removing the seat when the gearbox broke in it.
