I actually am dead set against doing this, but I have come across a set of wheels for sale with 19" Michelin Pilot Sports in the front and 19" Michelin PS2s at the rear. I want to know what kind of adverse noise or handling I can expect with this setup with street driving, if any. I suppose I can replace a pair of tires, but after I buy these wheels I won't be in much of a mood to spend another $500.

I've heard bad things from doing this. I don't have any personal experience though. Sorry I can't help much.

With the PS2's on the rear I'd have to think a car would have a pretty good tendency to understeer so be careful. I wouldn't be overly concerned about it if you can control your urges/right foot. The real problem comes when you have different tread patterns left to right, not front to back, as the tread will cause the tires to kind of fight each other and go all over the place when you least want them to. (sometimes uncontrolable tramlining, like having totally shot RTABs) Just take it easy and pick up 2 more PS2's when you have the loot.
*edit* but honestly it's not the best idea if you're driving the least bit aggressive to have any tire mismatched.

The PS2's are actually a good step above the PS in terms of grip, and the sidewall stiffness is a bit different as well. Just something to consider.

1) What was said about problem and mixing is true. I would be more concerned about mixing from side to side, versus front to back. I would really be against it if the lefts where diff then right.
2) I would be more concerned with how the car acts in the wet. PS2 have a different way of dispersing water then PS do. This is where my bigger fear would be on a car capable like ours. The tread patterns are vastly different too. Not like comparing a Michelin Energy MXV4 and a Michelin Pilot HX MXM.
I would prefer not to mix, but I think its something you could live with for a short term...

thanks for the feedback. I decided not to buy the wheels. he tire issue, and sellers lack of feedback prevented.
