Hi Guys,

Trying to decide whether an (offset) et38 would be better than et42 with a 18x8.5 wheel. These are my two offset confused choices for the wheels I like, but I don't want them to rub on the strut and I would prefer not to use a spacer. Tire size will be 245x35x18. I run OEM springs with Koni SA's up front. I have rolled fenders in the back, so either offset should me a non-issue in the rear.

TIA,

If in doubt go with the higher offset (42) since you can always add spacers to lower the offset if needed but you can't add anything that will increase the offset.:eyecrazy
I run M5 replicas and they are 8.5x18 ET35 with 235/40/18 BFG g-Force Sports and I wish I had a little more offset because I'm right at the inner fender lip up front.

My 18x8.5 BBS RCs are et38 offset. I currently run 235x40 tires all around with no front issues at all and it looks like 245x35 would be no problem either. If you go with the et42 offset I would think you can count on having to use spacers--which IMO is not an ideal solution.

I am running 18x8.5 wheels w/ 40 mm offset. 245/35/18 tyres, minor rubbing on RR w/ full tank of gas and Passanger. Have your wheels aligned and balanced and toe all set to that of an M. I have a H/R sport spring/Bil. sport shock setup with 1.2 drop front 1" rear. The "M setup" on alignment and other settings greatly reduced my problems.
