Remote Start Problem!

ok, i have a 99 m3. i recently just installed the viper 791 remote start/security system. my car is manual and everything was installed by a professional. for the key bypass system i used the dei 556uw. heres the problem....every so often when i go to start the car with the key, it wont crank. i'll try 2-3 times, the interior lights go on, but it wont turn over at all. the only way i can get it to start is by remote starting it. i've searched for this problem and the only thing i found was on m3forum.net and the guy said that the only way to start his car was to pop the clutch. i don't know if this has anything to do with the 556uw or the actual ignition itself, or by somthing else...if anyone has had this problem or knows what to do, any help is appreciated. thank you

Interesting. I assume your installer left a key, or the transponder chip out of a key, near the ignition to defeat the EWS-II system.

I wonder if you might have two transponder chips interefering with each other when you stick another key in the ignition and try to start the car. If that speculation is true, perhaps you can solve your problem by distancing the left-behind chip/key from the loop antenna so that its signal gets swamped out by the key you stick in the ignition.
