I see that Mexico is selling 130's and was wondering how I can get one into the States. Has anyone maybe in Texas or California seen any on the street. what would it take to register that puppie..

they have been spotted in CA, I am assuming that they will be coming to the states in the 2007 model year.

Yes, I've seen one several times in the past week. It has Mexican plates.
You'd have to keep it registered in Mexico. Not sure what the law says about how long you can have a Mexican car here before needing to register it in the USA.

They are coming to the states later this year. They are considered to be 2007s. They will also not be at all dealers. The larger dealers will get them, and then the smaller dealers that took on Mini, will not get the 1 series. For example Chattanooga passed on the mini in order to get the 1. While some where like Global in Atlanta will get the one while it sells the mini also

my neighbor here in florida only lives here for a couple of months out of the year, and spends the rest of his time up north. he has a lexus that he keeps down here with plates from the bahamas. he says he gets no trouble keeping in here year round with the plates on it and actually gets less trouble from the law cause there is really nothing they can do to a car thats not registered in the US. same if you have a foreign drivers license.

This was when I was talking to some of the different managers at some of the dealers I go to. I have heard it from both managers up front, and the guys in the parts department. The two dealerships I have heard it at were Montgomery, and Chattanooga, and Global that they would have them.
