I am planning to powdercoat the Schrick Intake Manifold I got recently.
My question is:
Schrick Intake is 2pieces, and there is a gasket (looks some kind of paper) btw them.
If I send the manifold for PC. is there going to be a problem with the gasket or I should disassemble it and look for new gasket?
Can I make gasket myself, if yes what material and RTV should I use.

Thanks

Tell the powder coat shop to mask off the flanges that require a seal. It goes on as a powder (hence the name) and is really easy to work with before curing.

For a good seal, I use Permatex Ultra Grey (599?) sealant on any gasket surface (water pump, thermostat housing, oil pan, etc) that doesn't see exhaust temps.

Do I have to cut a paper and used Permatex as well, or I can do it w/o paper gasket?

I am asking because of powder coating temperature.I am not sure if the temp will burn the gasket?

Thanks

It will probably cook the gasket. Either contact Schrick for a new one, or just use the Permatex instead of a paper one.
