this would be with euro hfm/intake and proper chip.

I just had them done on my 95. I have JC intake, HFM, Chip, Track pipe, and Gen 3 Exhaust. Pretty sure I was leaning out. In my opinion you are fine, but probably just barely. Most people with intake / HFM setups have injectors from what Ive seen.

No. The 95 M3 3.0 engine used 17lb injectors. Flow rate is near 90% cycle duty at redline with EuroHFM and stock injectors. The 24# injectors give the EuroHFM a nice cushion. You'll notice with the 24# injectors you have a "soft" redline where the fuel goes way rich to slow down your fuel cutoff. Also the new injectors smooth out the revband. Here was my review from a while ago before I went FI.

Matt, dont most chip software account for 24# injectors anyways?

yeah, it seems that AA is the only one that does 21.5 # injectors. What setup are you running?

But do you have 21.5 in your car now? Your car came w/ 17# stock. If you have 21.5 in there already, then it really isnt worth it to go to 24# unless you have the chip for it.

I run 24# only because when I put everything in, the package came w/ the software for the 24#. Ive got Conforti software.

I bought some used 21.5 injectors but have not installed them yet. I am thinking about just gettting the turner/conforti setup with 24#ers and be done with it.

no I did a obd1 on a 3.2.

as you guys know the 3.2 come w/ the pick injectors and they are rated at #21.5.

so I got my chip from turner before that I had a chat with bill and he sayd it will hurt my engine to run a set-up for the #24 injectors, TMS offer to up-grade my chip once I get the 24# inj.

but it's up to you, if you try let me know the out come:)

^ :confused :dunno

Are you trying to say that trying to run 24# injectors without the 24# software is bad? At least that's the best I can try to make out from what you posted. If that is the case, yes, that is true and Im pretty sure MRacer was not going to do that.

Nice writeup GQ.
I'm leaning out a little (was told my trackpipe gasket leak would fix it) and want to do this since I'm doing the cam upgrade in Aug.

Are all of you posting your dyno runs in the thread that is stickied at the top?

sorry for the context.....:stickoutt

what I tried to say was that, If you use a chip tunned for ( blue ) 24# inj. with a set of 21.5# it will hurt the engine ( Engine air fuel ratio would be too lean )

Now if you use a chip tunned for the 17# inj ( green ) you engine would run rich it would not run as it should. A rich car would run but a lean car it could detonate. or burn valves etc....

1992 thru 1995 E36 came with the green injectors

1996 thru 1999 E36 came with the pink injectors (My 3.2 came w/ these)

like Will adviced me run with the chip tunned for a 3.0 since I'm runing OBD1 system and once I get the ( blue ) injectors ( 24lbs ) I will send'em the chip and they will remap it.

I hope I make my self clear;)
