View Full Version : Civic rims on E30

Have anyone tried fitting a set of rims off the older civics, onto an E30?
The bolt patters in the same (4x100), just the offset is different (as far as I know), which I imagine could be solved with some spacers?
The reason I ask is because civic rims are so common, and readily available, whereas bimmer rims (with their unique offset) are a lot more rare, especially when looking for used rims.

I don't really see what the big deal is.
To answer your question, I would assume that Civic wheels would fit on an e30 with just spacers.

I can't believe I'm the only one that's thought of doing this!
And if this frowned upon, a little more the "Wow" or "no-no" would be appreciated!

the offset is definately wrong and you can fix with a spacer. the problem lies more in the center bore of the wheels. i don't remember the exact center bores for the two you will have to check into that.

bmw e30's are 57.1 and i think hondas are 56.1 but that doesn't really matter because most wheels have a universal size. You want the to get the offset down in the low 20 range. You are most certainly not the first person that though of this, countless people are running spacers and high offset wheels.

Check out the 92-98(mabey) vw golf/jetta wheels. The et is to high but the centre bore is correct. Spacers and bolts will fix.
I run an oz superleggera 15x7 et 37 -15mm spacer so my et is 22. They work fine.

Seems like the whole rim question always raises a few eyebrows.
So, I'll ask again... I have an 82 323i Baur. It was running 15" rims (previous owner) that ended up interfering on full lock. So I switched back to the standard 13" basketweaves.
A friend of mine has offered me some 14" BBS wheels from his car (A Mazda). Only thing is he says they are offset 38mm.
I've tried to get a definite answer on the centre dimension, but all hed knows is they seem to be 4x100 (like the BMW).
Anyone know where I can get this info? I've tried googling it but not much luck. Also will running 15mm spacers be enough?
Is there a max recommended spacer size?
Also, where can I buy spacers easily to match?
Thanks in advance.
ps. Iam a very new BMW owner, so please excuse my lack of knowledge.

These are Nice e30's with bad choice of wheels.. If you can somehow erase the wheels they be nice cars Painted boards, shadolined , euro trim all nice mods.. Wheels however are an Eyesore.

Um, yeah. I have been offered a set of 14"x6 MAZDA MX5 / Miata BBS alloys.
Will these fit ok on an E21?
