I'm currently running BBS RSII 18x8.5 et38 all around (235/40/18 f, 255/35/18 r). I've found a pair of 18x9.0 RSII's et47 that I'd like to run in the rears. My question is, will these work in the rear of my car?
The current 38mm offset along with 255/35/18 tires does not rub in the rear (had my fenders pulled). What will happen If I try the 18x9 et47?

and if you are running 18x9 's in the rear of the e36 m3, would you please post the offset of your rims? thanks!

That would work just fine. The 9's will fit the 255's more square, which is a good thing. Good find!

Just did some research on offsets and learned a whole bunch of info.
upgrading from 8.5" @ +38mm offset to 9.0" @ +47mm offset yields me:
15mm less clearance on the inside (wheel to strut clearance is closer) and 3mm more clearance on the outside.
So, the only concern is the added 15mm of inside width (0.6"). I'm hoping this added width will clear the koni struts. I think I answered my own question, but thanks anyways guys!
