Turns out I need new rear tires on my M5. When I bought the car they looked okay, but I guess there is some negative camber built in to the factory settings and the tires are pretty worn on the inside edge.

Anyway the fronts are nearly new (10 months, 7k miles) Bridgestone PP S-03's. Normally I would buy a matching set, but at $285 ea, the S03 is not cheap. I'm on a tight budget because I'm about to buy a house.

My alternative choices are Kumho MX at ~$220 or Toyo T1-R at ~$200 each. So I would be looking at saving between $130-170 if I opt for those over the S03s. I only expect to get a year or two out of the tires anyway because I drive hard.

If I had to buy 4 tires right now I would buy the MX. But I am somewhat apprehensive about mixing tires front/rear. I do plan on a few HPDEs this summer on the street tires. Should I bite the bullet and buy a matching set of S03s, or mix and match?

I'm not a fan of mix/match hodgepodge sets for my car.

I needed one new tyre last week (failed a warrant of fitness) so, I bought a set = $1271 (including wheel alignment and $10 insurance per tyre).

If I was you, I'd buy new rears to match your fronts - its only money...you make it every week.
