I know this has been answered probably many times but I'm tired right now and can't find it.
I need new tires immediately and was trying to figure something out. From what I understand, the stock size on the '95 M3 was 17x7.5 with 235/40 all the way around. I put LTWs from a '98 which are staggered and also from what I understand they put 225/45 on the front 17x7.5 and 245/40 on the 17x8.5 rears (for more understeer right?).
My question is this, what would be the advantage/disadvantage to put 235/40 back on the front 17x7.5 (while keeping the 245/40 on the rear 17x8.5)? Will this reduce understeer? With the 225/45 I always thought it looked a little funny because the sidewall is a little thicker, but I guess it fills out the wheel well more too since my car isn't slammed. It doesn't look too bad though when you use tire shine. Any help would be great. Thanks!
