So me and my dad decide to do some christmas shopping today, We took my car a 97 m3...driving in front of the mall I notice that my car is smoking from under the hood...My dads like it is the car in front of you....Im like no that is definately my car.....some kids point and yell "hey your car is leaking"...so I pull in a parking spot open the hood and there is coolant everywhere...so I take the cover off the radiator....Yep there is the upper radiator hose just lying there....so I go to put it back on but the piece that hold it on is in the hose so put it back on the best I can...take it over to sears auto center across the street....they tell me I need a whole new radiator....so they told me they could not get to it until monday though...so I decide Ill just have it towed back to my house and fix it after the holidays...call the tow truck he shows up and takes one look at the car and goes, no, I cant do it....Im like why ...he said he did a 95 m3 yesterday and he ripped the front bumper off...im like f*** that see ya later....So now my car is stuck at sears auto center were they are gonna fix it and probably gonna charge me a sh*t load of money.....I dont mind people working on my car but I dont know about these guys, iI had to show them how to take the cover off.....Well thats my day.....

Yeah that pretty much sucks. I got home from school a week ago to find out the mechanic is on vacation till the 27th and to top it off my dog has cancer. This week has been crappy to say the least. I need my car worked on badly. I'm lucky it's sitting in the driveway but I had to drive our Audi. That was a terrible experience. Hopefully they can fix your car with out doing any damage. Just be happy the towtruck driver didn't rip off the front end. That would add even more "fun" to your day.

i wouldnt let sears touch my car..

Flat bed the car back to your house and just buy the parts and do it in the garage.. it will probably end up costing less even with the towing fee.

That sucks man, sorry to hear it. But my friend and I just did my radiator yesterday and it took no more then an hour to an hour and a half, so just do it yourself. DO NOT let Sears work on your car, it just isn't worth it. Flat bed the car home like stated above and do it yourself, it is a very straight forward install.

on the note of crap with cars. i brought my car up to my school (Loyola) up in baltimore to take an exam. i noticed that most of the week i was having a little trouble starting and i suspected the battery was weak after a few weeks of sitting. so after i take my exam i walk out to my car, which was parallel parked on a busy street, and it wouldnt start so i was pissed. anyway, the good part of the story: called up my friend from johns hopkins, him and his brother come over and we push start my car in the middle of traffic, people honking and yelling at us, and finally get it started.

i also then went to sears auto center since it was close to get a battery, they said they didnt have a battery even close to the one needed, theyre worthless and retarded.

oh yeah and you just need a flat bed tow truck :)

Just make sure the guy is taking his time to get the car up on the flat bed so he doesn't rip the tow hook/bumper off.

I've had my car towed multiple times now. Due to ignition getting stuck, dead water pump, and so on.
I probably have more pictures of my car on a tow truck then in a scenic area.

When he's securing the car down, he doesn't use the tow hook as one of the securing point either. Also make sure he doesn't use your control arms as tie down points.

$140 for a new radiator, $20 gallon of bmw coolant, $1 gallon of distilled water, the screw driver in your trunk and 20 minutes of your time is all you need to install a new radiator in that car.

the dealer is still open, get your parts and get cracking on it and drive her home already. :)

Except the dealer wants $350 for a radiator so just order one from radiators.com They got me my radiator for $190 with free overnight shipping, got it to me the next day.

I'm not sure what you mean; they dropped their pants when I told them that they were over priced. I didn't pull any teeth.

Yep, my radiator neck snapped in about the same way. I had a large clamp laying in the back, so I just tightened it on there, added a couple water bottles to the resevoir and was able to drive it about 10 more miles to drop the person I was with off, and to drive it home to replace the radiator. It still leaked with the clamp, but I only lost maybe half a liter more during those miles. Beat calling a tow truck.
