it's certainly lighter & will never break or leak!

I would like to know this because it seems that the previous owner was less than honest (saying it has heated seats when i find out that theres no wiring for the heated seats, just the switches are there)

Sunroof isnt rare. It's the lack thereof that are few and far between (and very desireable amongst the auto-x/tracking members).

What's the non-smoker package? Is a dove gray interior really that rare? I scrapped mine for a black interior with heated seats. My car came with the dove gray.

As for the tilting headlights, I thought all bimmers had them. How else can you adjust the angle of the lights? Mine has tilting headlights.

i think tilt steering came standard on cars manufactered on or before 1994 and came as an option after that.. anyways you can tell if you have an lsd if your jack up your car and rotate one of your rear wheels one way and the opposite wheels rotates in the opposite direction.

I also have 818, but I don't actuallly have the switch. The dealer informed me that this option was equipped for when the car was shipped over here, and the switch is removed by the dealer before selling the car.

On the Porsche I used to own, the "R" meant that you were on the "reserve" fuel (the last 1-2 gallons in the tank). Or, it just means that, when the needle points there, it is time to "refuel" :)

mine's a 92 build date of 10/22/91 at 18:00 dunno if the "wheel, radial spoke style 48 7j x 16 w/225/55 r16" is a rare option(probably not), only other option mine has is the "safety tire"(spare?)

I have no Vanos, and no knock sensor....weird huh. All options available for 1992 except metallic paint (thank god). I especially love the LSD.
Another cool thing is that when my car was repainted the hood was NOT taken off, but the wipers don't fit under it anymore. Thats a really great option on those rainy days.

I remember reading in the e30's manual about using the OBC to secure the car.. so it won't start... is that what the 900 code is for the e36? huh..

Apparently, "premium" audio is non-HK w/ 8 speakers (or is there a tweeter in the rear deck that counts?). the rear deck spkrs have a deep chamber to them and have a blue 'nokia' sticker visible from inside the trunk .:dunno and the rear seats split and fold (not listed)?? The kill switch is missing as someone stated.. removed at dealer I guess. wish I could find one.. pretty useful novelty if original. OBC has 18 buttons.

My car is really wierd in that it is the base and has cloth seats plus fog lights and a California top but no OBC. I found it funny that the original owner sprung for fogs and a Cali top but no OBC.

Another wierd thing: when I purchased the car, it had an aftermarket Pioneer in it which I replaced and gave to a friend. When he googled the model number for install instructions for it, the top hits were in German. That was wierd.

I have some minor things in my 325is like the 18 button obd with meteric and an lsd but I took it to my local dealer to have my vin looked up to see what was standard and they all just looked at me like I was insane and then sent me to a differant department, any other suggestions on how to find your factory options if the dealership is no help and the list under the seat is AWOL?

Went to check the options sheet and I've got:

- front airbags;

- option 270 - wide tires (my car is german, and 185mm is stock there. mine came with 205mm);

- Central locking and front electric windows;

- Sunroof;

- 340/341: it says 340 which is partly painted bumpers, but mine came fully painted, so it should be 341;

- warning triangle (there should be a code for the medic kit too, right?)

- rear headrests;

- adjusting headlights dial;

- front foglights (there should be a code for the back too);

- ambient temp sensor;

- Cassete box;

- 801: "order control" (what's this???);

my 1997 318i came with the chrome stock wheels and all the body was painted...i guess that was every model after 1995...wierd part is it seems like it was a sports package because it came with a cloth interior.

I tried to find some info on it, all I could find is that Option S907A is the James Bond Edition. I did find some references to it being put on some Z3s after Goldeneye ('96?), but it was supposedly rare. The number, 011, probably indicates that is the 11th vehicle with that option. Sounds like it might have been a limited run. License to Kill came out in '89, so I really don't know.

If it wasn't for the fact it's on your options sheet, I'd say that plaque was from another car. Very wierd.

My battery is in the trunk, and according to everything I've read it should be under the hood in a 318. I always thought this is what 818 MAIN BATTERY SWITCH was, but now I need to investigate and look for a switch.

Like I said, none of this is rare

341 BUMPERS COMPLETELY IN BODY COLOUR - Surely not rare but a lot seem to be grey

676 HIFI LOUDSPEAKER SYSTEM - I don't have a switch for this, like the manual says, but dosn't matter, all that's gone anyway

686 DIVERSITY-FUNCTION AERIAL - No idea. I'm guesing it's that boosted antenna crap that's broken and/or sucks

Have rear fold-down seats and business-radio w/factory 6 CD changer; those are rare right? Otherwise, just 2-tone interior (grey/black), OBC, a working flashlight, and this really weird little box on the top of the right A-pillar that's wired under the upholstery. Looks like a BMW product (same style and plastic) and could be some sort of hands-free system, but neither I nor the owner before me could figure out what the heck it is.

How many codes do you guys have on your slips under your seat? I just pulled mine out, and I have two conflicting sheets that both only have two options on them. 0243, and 0458. What's weird is that the two slips have different production months, and there seem to be option codes missing...I should have the code for a sunroof on there as well.

When I ordered my '93 325iS the sport package did not include the LSD. The LSD was a separate option. The LSD was included in the winter package at almost the same cost as the LSD alone.
