I need some help with my 318i. For some reason the windows and sunroof will not open or close. They were working this morning but on our way home we couldn't open them? Fuses in fuse box are ok. Any help would be greatful. I think the Automatic Circuit Breaker has something to do with it??? Thanks

There is a relay colored blue located above the brake pedal. You would need to remove the cover under the steering column. You buy a new relay or you can try to solder it back. There is some instruction on how to do this. I just don't have the link.

Yeah, its called the comfort relay and a write up can be found online. Check bimmerdiy.com/e36 . If they don't have it there then google comfort relay fix.

Also try fuse #46 I believe. It has nothing to do with windows and such, but it fixed mine. It must do something to the windows/sunroof as I found that tip here on the forum in another thread about windows/sunroof. You should also test your fuses with some equipment, as I checked mine the traditional way and found them to be all fine, until I redid the check with an LED circuit tester.

Thanks Mr. M, but the fuse is ok. I checked all the fuses with a meter and I just changes #46 and still no work. Baffeling to say the least....I think the Automatic Circuit Breaker has something to do with this?????
