Curious. Last season I placed second in my class. The whole season I was outdriven by an e30. Our time differences always under a second... But never improving. I was wondering if his weight would be giving him the advantage? The difference between e30's and 36's is quite a bit as I found out. Several hundred pounds in fact. Definately increases the cornering speed.

Of course it could very well be he is just a better driver than me.

The e36 is only about 200 pounds heavier. An e30 325i coupe weighs approximately 2800 pounds, while my e36 weighs about 3000. Also, the e36 has a much more sophisticated suspension setup, so the e36s can vastly outhandle the e30s. They're much more agile. Plus, they're much more powerful. The e36 has the advantage in every aspect, except the weight difference. It probably just comes down to driver skill.
