Hi All,

I bought an aftermarket central door locking kit for my recently bought 1993 316. The car is very nice and in super shape but has no options what so ever. The only that bugs me about that is reaching over to open the door for passengers and having to use the key to lock / unlock.

The installation should be straight forward and my only questions is what is the best place to hook up the electrics. I figured to put the remore control receiver / central control in the space behind the glove box since there is a power relay there.

I need to find the best place there to hook up the 12v wire and the ground wire. These two wires in the kit have those ring connectors.
So my question is, how do i hook up the power and ground connectors to this kit?

Does anyone have any experience doing this install, any hint tips?

Thanks so much in advance!

Cheers,

Mark

Just FYI, most if not all the E36s in the US came with a central locking. My euro car came with it as well as most E36s in Argentina.

Isn't there an OEM retrofit kit for central locking? How are you going to get it to double lock with an aftermarket locking?

What is double lock anyway? I dont it it applies because there is no alarm or anything, I just need to move the lock bar in the doors up or down...

So any advice on where to atach my cables? Where do I find the 12v and ground plug under the glove compartment?
Thx.
