Question About exhaust?

I am new here and don't know as much about my car as most people on here. I was wondering what the best sounding (low, not too loud) exhaust is for my 99 e36 328is?
- Also, i found an exhaust by borla, and the description is:

"I cut a brace near the end of the exhaust. This was necessary to get the exhaust to mate properly with the stock cat. After doing this, the exhaust mated and hung properly."

Will this exhaust fit onto my car with no problems?
What do you guys on here think about borla?
