If ya want to talk about weight loss, has anyone taken out the fiberglass board that is under the spare tire? I recently took it out (along with the spare) to build a sub enclosure, and couldn't believe how heavy it was. Easily 50lbs!
I am not sure of the structural importance of this thing (I've heard that in the event of beinig struck from the rear, your spare plays a big role in crash management), but it didn't appear to be well attached, just well molded.
