I'm planning to replace my shocks and struts w/ Bilstein's Touring shocks and struts. Besides the rear mount, should i also replace the front strut mounts? and over at Bavarian Autosport, they have something called the "installation hardware", they includes spring pads, protection tubes, and "compression absorbers":95 , do i need all that?
Here's the link for those "hardware":http://www.bavarianautosport.com/shop.asp
and the rear: http://www.bavarianautosport.com/shop.asp
should i just replace all those stuff just to be on the safe side? i
really want a nice smooth but firm ride!
thanks!

just talked to a guy at Bav, he said the "Touring" is like a cadillac, and the statement on their site saying it's 15% stiffer than stock is misleading...
have anyone tried the "touring"?
and is it harsh to have the Bilstein "Sport"?

Front strut require spring compressor to remove. Rear shocks do not require the removal of the springs.

I don't know if BMW has an upgraded strut mount for the 3 series...It's never been the front strut that tear through the mounts, it's the rear shock mounts that's the weak link.

thank you! you've just saved $100 just the part itself on the front mount!
