Just noticed that the Michelin Pilot Sport MXM (225/45/17) wear index is 140. It's not even legal for street tire categories in autoX. So in dry autoX, is this tire even better than the PS2 in terms of adhesion?

Well, maybe I should ask it in this way: Is it that on dry AutoX pavement, mostly parking lots, the lower the tire wear index, the better the traction? Like a 140 wear index have more traction than 220 wear index tire?

No lower tread wear does not mean better traction. A Pilot MXM is not at all a Performance oriented tire but a Grand Touring tire.

A good Maximum Performance Tire would be Godyear Eagle F1 GS D3s. If you want competition type perfromance, then a Kumho ECSTA V700 which is still street legal might be a better option.
