got my new rogue rsm's in and was reading through the install directions. even though i wontbe installing them until my tines arrive next week i wanted to familiarize myself a little first sincei have never changed out suspension on a bmw before..
in teh directions it states that teh Reinforcement plate mounts inside the car with the bolts pointing down and the actual RSM mounts in trhe wheel well under the rear shock tower and are bolted to the chassis and reinforcement plate vie the included Nuts.
the directions say that if replacment of the RSms is ever necessary all you have to do is remove the nuts securing the RSM to the chassis and reinforcement plate and the RSM will come out and the reinforcement plate wil remain in the car with the bolts hangin down..
when i thought about it that is true but that doesnt mean the reinforcment plate is still on tight right? if oyu have the RSM out and unbolted then if you press UP on the bolts for the reinforcement plate then it would be possible for the reinforcment plate to get pushed out of place making oyu have to then go into insid of car to get them to drop back down meaning you should be careful not to apply upward pressure incorrectly when installing new RSM onto the reinforcement plate bolts right?
or am i missing something and in some way the plate stays secured to the chassis even when the RSM is out of the car?
sorry if i made something that is supposed ot be so easy seem complicated lol
i just dont like having that not sure feeling
