Not lowered but I have 18s, and they also follow the grooves in the road. I think that's just life when you have bigger wheels...

mine also follows grooves in the road but you'll get used to it quickly, just watch the potholes

Your wheels are naturally going to follow the grooves in the road. With the bigger wheel, you have less rubber between the wheel and the road, therefore making it stiffer and have less of a buffer.

What you are experiencing is called tramlining and is dependent upon how your car is aligned and the type and size tire you run.
All you need to do is a search on tramling in this forum and you will get a great deal of information.

Yup this is exactly right. One way to really counter the effects of this is to increase the amount of caster in your front wheels. THe only way to do this is to get a set of 95 M3 LCAB that are offset to increase the caster in the control arm, or get 96+ M3 LCA/LCAB and replace the ones you have in your car right now. I have 17's and I get a little bit of this but its really not that bad. IM reaplcing my control arms with the M3 96+ ones and am hoping this will get rid of it completley. Tramling is also affected by what kind of tires you have. Some do it worse than others. You just have to read reviews on it and see which ones are better then others.

did you get the car aligned after the lowering?

I've been lowered on Eibach ProKit/Blistein Sports and had the car aligned. YEs there was some tramlining, but certain tires were better than others.

Get a life time alignment package if you can. Will save you a lot of money in the future. Four wheel alignments arent cheap and for 200 bucks a lot of places will do it the rest of the life of the car any time you want unlimited. Its the way to go.

it also depends on the brand of tire too i think. i run 17x9 with kumho mx's in front and i rarely tramline. Maybe it's because of the softer sidewalls.

My Kumhos tramlined like crazy. I was running the ectsa 712 though. I now have the toyo proxis on there and its a lot better. The increased caster though from the control arms ive heard takes care of most of this problem for you. So Im looking forward to seeing the differnce once I put the new control arms in.
