Definitely the M6.:buttrock The styling is amazing and it has that sweet V10 under the hood.

Not having driven either, I went with M3 althought the M6 tempts me a lot too. the idea is that someone mentioned that the M3 will handle nicer because it is smaller. Don't know if that is true or not, but I sure like the feeling of a nice light car with a powerful engine. Also, the M3 has the awesome history behind it across the many generations of bimmer Ms

the new looks don't bother me so much. :dunno

the only look that i will despise forever is the e65/66 BEFORE the facelift. the 7er now looks pretty good.

i'd take an M6, but i'd imagine the M Z4 would be more fun to drive, if a little less practical.

E90 M3. It will probably look better, as the E90 > E60, and it'll be lighter. Four seats remain, and a fullsize trunk, so practicality suffers minimally. The power-to-weight ratio, I imagine, will be comparable between the two as well.

But the E39 M5/E46 M3 are the real winners.
