Of course they are, but got to keep prices down somewhere and on the non-sport versions it's a good place to cut. In any case, I love mine! :buttrock

Can you even do burnouts in an auto?

*serious question^

All you bastids are lucky, its the worst feeling ever when your sliding, and you have no control at all over where the power is going :mad :(

Open diffs work just fine on quite a few racecars. ;)

open diff is kinda crappy imo, I don't like it but you still can have lots of fun with it.

Can't wait either.

i'm suprised more people around here aren't about the one wheeler peelers ;)

for the record, i love my lsd although I don't do too many burnouts. Helps keep the rear end from coming around though.

Going uphill... or in the rain... or if I go full lock and.... needless to say, it takes work.... I'm lying. I could light up the tires from a stop if I tried.

How? I've been driving an auto e36 325 for the past few days, the thing has almost bald tires and even brake standing it, it will barely make a peep.

I'm sorry, I wrote could. I meant couldnt. The only time I've ever been able to lay down rubber is by holding the brake down while revving the gas, and even then I'm worried about stressing the transmission.

i was like you must have some uber power or even balder tires. haha

Yea My LSD rules for straightline but in turns it seems to cause the rear end to come out more often then I'd like when on power... Still SOO much better than stock open!!

BMW continues to put open diffs in most of their cars because it is safer for the average moron driver....

I got a 19 the last time at the strip because of burning out. In anticipation, I floored it before letting the brake go. Once the brake was up, I spun like hell. The auto should be gone in a few weeks. Now, I am still worried about this open 3.91...

the 3.91 will be fun as shit, just don't plan on taking the freeway anywhere unless you wanna be running around at almost 5k going 80.

That's what it is like driving in 3rd (sport mode) on this thing. Personally, I don't mind the high revs anywho. It cleans the engine. :D

Where'd you get that lsd santacruisin?

I got the diff from overboost.com You will have to buy a new ring and pinion set and all new bearings to complete the diff; you can get that stuff from Dan at Diffsonline. He is familiar with the kaaz diff. When all is said and done its gonna cost about $2000 to get the kaaz diff installed and ready to run. But you get a cool sticker!
