I have a 1997 BMW 318iA/4, prewired. My friend has a 1993 325is with 6CD Changer installed. Will that 6CD changer work with my car?

I'm now hearing conflicting opinions with this, something about iBus.

i thought they were all the same. As long as you have the "prewired for cd changer" in your trunk you should be set...as far as I am aware.

The bus is different. The change over date was in 95 however I have heard of late 94 models that had the new bus.

I got quoted $900 for the iBus changer for my 97 e36. Good luck haha.

are these backwards compatible? will one from a 98 M3 fit a 94 325?
In other words--will a 13 pin cd changer work in a car with a 10pin connection?
