everytime I start my car (325is) it makes a gurgling sound from the rear. I know this is where the gas tank is but the tank is full and it still makes this sound. Does it sound like I might have a fuel pump going out?:confused

Does the gurgling sound show up constantly or only when you let off the throttle?

I have noticed my 95 325i has also had a gurgling sound every
now and then coming from the rear.
Just started about a week ago.
Does not do it every start up and maybe lasts for 10 seconds at most.

I assume its the fuel pump on its way out?

Thanks

LOL, that subject just screams FUNNY!

My question would have been similar to hendrixharlow, but slight changes would be made, as such: Does the gurgling sound show up constantly or only when you eat Taco Bell?

Ok, my apologies. In one of my Mustangs, I started hearing gurgling instead of a smooth steady hum/whine when I'd turn the key, just before the fuel pump went bad. It only did it twice, and then while driving it just DIED without any real warning, and I was left at the side of the road.

I would have it checked out in case you have a fuel pump going south on you. Although you might just have a clogged pickup tube or something. I'm surprised you can hear it at all in the BMW's though. They're so "quiet" inside. I can't ever hear my fuel pump pumping like I could in my Mustangs.

When I dropped it off to get it looked at, it of course didnt make the
sound. Hopefully, they can figure it out.

My 94 has made that sound occasionally since it was new. I brought it to the dealer for that problem while the car was still under warranty and was told that is is 'normal'.
Anyway, same fuel pump at 126k.
