cute, but the skull on the hood and the yellow film covered headlights look strange. But besides that, very nice.

Props for posting this and showing how Euros are coming to the forefront of the drifting community, he's really earned his stickers.

I don't hate on drifting...but all I see is a 325 with ugly wheels and yellow headlights....

what am I missing that is so great about it?

Its not so much the car, its what the car is doing that is impressive. A German car invading a Japanese dominated scene.

167hp and 159tq???? I definately expected more power than that considering his mods.

Are BMW's any good for drifting? I just met my friend's brother last weekend that drifts an 05 Mustang professionally for drift alliance. I saw a video he was in and it was mostly all japanese cars with a few GTO's and Mustangs in there, and one guy even had a Viper which kind of surprised me. Do BMW's even stand a chance?

SpeedTheory

You met Ken Gushi?? Care to introduce me sometime? Yeah, Hubinette does the Viper, its all about the driver, rather than the car, BMWs are near 50/50 weight balance, good handling, they're certainly driftable.

no comment on the car. but the quality of the camera is amazing

yes, definitely about the driver. but a well balanced car doesn't hurt either.

BMW's are great handling cars, but the tails are so damned twitchy. take for instance your average 240sx, with some suspension mods, will stay sideways all day. but with suspension, a bmw can be perfect for drifting.

and also you'll notice that all these domestic vehicles are in formula d (which has some very stupid judging IMO). then you have D1GP with strictly all JDM cars. but i'm sure we'll see it expanding. Andy Sapp currently has the only BMW/euro car in formula D. Dado of dtmpower woulda been another bmw drifter, but his turbo m3 has been having a bunch of problems and Moore Motorsports gave him a nice ole CTS-V to drift.

I saw this car at drift atlanta. Pretty cool. Someone needs to sponser him and throw a nice turbo setup, some pimp wheels and a huge chin spoiler at the car.. Would be pimp then.

BMWs would probably make awesome drift cars. They're too expensive to crash though. Most likely the main reason people don't drift them.

SpeedTheory

The money he's gotten from the sponsors that put those stickers there enabled him to purchase x-ray vision, don't knock on stickers when they really belong there.

BMW's are great handling cars, but the tails are so damned twitchy.

Easily fixed with some spherical RTAB's.

and some swaybars :D

I'm not sure the bars would have anything to do with the twitchiness once the tail is out.

Hubert Young was out at thunderhill last spring, I was talking to him and mentioned I had a 325. He asked me why I wasnt running it, and my obvious answer was "because its not a drift car". He proceeded to drift the hell out of his girlfriends automatic e46 coupe, then told me to get my whiney ass out on the track.

His car.

pretty cool to see another bmw in the drift scene, and cool car. i think a decal shop can come up with a better graphics design for him though that would still include the sponsors.

edit: just read that he's into graphic design. i think he should design a new graphics theme for his car, which will make it look badass.

Not Ken Gushi. He goes by J.R. but his real name is like Vaugh something. I don't even know if he's really related to my friend but he they say they're brothers but I know they at least have different dads. He drives the blue/green 05 Mustang. I think the car is pretty ugly but I guess it gets the job done. If I remember I'll get his name later tonight when I see my friend.

*edit* I just found this on another forum. http://www.drifting.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9663
His actual name is Vaugh Gitten and the mustang in the second post is his.

Ken Gushi doesn't drive for Drift Alliance, he is with Toyo, Ford Racing, Gushi Auto. That would be JR Vaughn Gittin JR that lives in Columbia, MD and drives the green mustang for Falken.

He was there but didn't qualify for the main event.
