Ok, heres the question..... would a MINI Cooper with minimal mods (h&r springs is probably it) be able to take an NSX on a short auto x course?
Before you guys laugh your asses off, my friend who has an NSX is saying YES, I would beat him, and I'm the one who's a little skeptical. He claims that the MINI is the perfect auto x car... small, tossable, great handling. Is this true? My whole thing is that he paid 40k for his car when it was 10 years old, and its a sports car to the bone, my car cost 20k brand new and is by no means a sports car (sporty yes... sports car... not a chance). Anyway, what do you guys think?

On a short technical course, the HP differences will not be a factor. What does make a difference is the ability of the driver and the handling of the car. In an autox course, the MINI will be able to just weave through the cones VERY easily. A good example is Formula 1. The higher HP cars kick ass on the straights, but the better handling ones catch up to them in the twisties. If it is a short course where the HP difference is negated, the better handling car will prevail.
Of course, I may be wrong and then Brian will come and kick my butt!

This is the same thing he says... and I agree with the statement to the fullest... but which of the cars is really the better handling? I'm all for the MINI kicking ass... I'm just a little skeptical  :D

Kyle it's difficult as you're comparing apples to oranges! Utilizing the ceteris parabis assumpsit, the MINI would be the better car.
Before you start buying parts for your Cooper, try it stock. It's a helluva car with the stock suspension. For us old farts, it rides hard enough the way it is.

Pics? You're gonna have to wait until the afternoon. It's 2:43 am and dark. Plus, the cats are all sleeping on the roof right now. It's a good thing I have a car cover!

There's the good and bad. The good is to get some sleep. The bad is you need a helluva lot of sleep. Just a few hours sleep will make you feel worse. So...do you stay up and get stuff accomplished, or get some sleep for the next 10 hours? As for me I just got home a little while ago and now I'm fixing a toilet. Ho wthe hell is it that Home Depot only has tank flappers and not tank balls? Those flappers a good for nothing!
