SEARCHED: Ford 302 turbo into e36?

This is my newest project I'm thinking about doing. I fabbed my own turbo kit for my mustang and took it off so I could sell the car. I'm thinking of getting a 318is and tossing in a 302 EFI with a tremec TKO600 transmission. I can fabricate anything. I'm planning on 500rwhp intercooled. I will be running an anderson PMS computer to tune on the go (I love this thing). Anyone have any useful info on the swap?

PS: What is the stock bolt pattern on the wheels? I want to run some 98 cobra R rims for the added ford factor since I'm a ford guy.

Just looking to build something to handle better than a mustang but be faster and easier to work on than a BMW. (And be more pimp than a mustang; chicks man, chicks!)

5x112 those mustang wheels are 5x114.3, as far as the ford swap is concerned, that has never been done, but there are some guys doing an ls1 swap that seems to be nice, they are using a t56 6speed. you most likely will be slammed for doing this, just to warn you.. the bmw doesnt need the ford motor, you just need to buy an m3 and turbo it, or even a 328is would be great, and for about the same money too, not to mention how much more pure it would be. How would you like to have a chevy motor in your mustang? but nonetheless cool idea, i thought about a chevy motor in my datsun:)

Well im not a bmw purist by any means. And I could do this much cheaper I feel. A car with blown engine and/or trans has got to be cheap. I have the whole turbo kit computer injectors everything. Just need an engine and trans. I really like the ford smallblock. I don't care if I get slammed for it. I don't have the money to spend on a turbo kit for an M3 and buy an M3. I'm a college kid! This is meant to be a fun project and hopefully I can kick some of asses with my car that's cheaper and more powerful than a real M3. The torque and pull of the turbo V8 is a great feeling. Just an idea.
