So i have a question for my fellow BMW guru's

I have an E36 M3 right now and i LOVE the way it handles. But i am thinking of selling it buying a E30 325is and then tossing a S50 in it. My question is; will the E30 with modded suspension handle as good as my M3? And "modded suspension" i mean springs/shocks/swaybars/ etc.

Id like to think it would but i have never driven an E30 so i really dont know. Anyone have an opinion on this?

At the limits, a modded E36 will outhandle a modded E30. That said, the E30 will definitely feel like it handles better...more connected to the road, etc., and will be much more fun to drive (my opinion having driven both modded E30s and E36s).

You throw an S50 in the front of any E30 and it wont handle as well as a E36. Simple reason being polar moment of inertia. You are putting much more weight in front of the front subframe on an E30, whereas on the E36 the majority of that weight is tucked behind the subframe nicely. Will the E30 be a fun car? Absolutely. Will it be able to corner and handle as well? Not at all.
