What do you guys think? Purchase an 02-03 M3 at the end of this year, or WAIT until next spring for the z4 coupe. Or if possible, but I doubt it get a z4 M coupe? I'm looking to spend less than $40k.

I would go for the E46, but then I want back seats.

I don't think you'll be able to touch a Z4 coupe for under $40k...it's going to sticker as high if not higher than a Z4 roadster, before you factor in dealer markup. And correct me if I'm wrong, but have they decided to actually build the coupe?

Yes there are building the coupe and it will come with the same engine as the E90 330 around 260 hp. You are correct in that I believe it will be priced around $45,000 and in the mid $50's for the M version.

What kind of question is that anyways? The M3 and the MZ4 are completely different cars!! Do you want a 2-seater roadster or a 5 seater Coupe??? That is the question you want to answer.

Wait until 2008/9 when they facelift the z4....and probably when they release the mz4 coupe.

I can't wait until 2008-2009:)

Depending on options on edmunds.com, a 2005 z4 conv't will run about $40,000 invoice and $43,000 MSRP. I know I wont be able to get the invoice price. Convertibles are also more expensive than the coupes. So, I would think a z4 coupe would cost less than $40,000. right?

Well, I guess the z4 M coupe will be too much for me.

If it wasn't for the $40k price cap then I would say go for the MZ4 Coupe, but since I seriously doubt that car will go for under $50k then get the M3 now. Delayed gratification is overrated.

Usually the verts will cost more, but consider how old the z4 vert will be in comparison to the coupe. Well, for reference, how much did s52 mcoupes cost in comparison to s54 mroadsters? s54?

i believe the s52 mroadsters you can get for around $20k. as far as the s54 mcoupes, i think they are going for over $30k if not close to 40k, just because they are so rare.
