The car is a 89' 325i auto, Gunmetal Grey with black leather interior. 108,000 mies. Car is in almost perfect condition with a few paint blemishes, nothing major, interior is perfect. However the car revs up at times and doesnt shift right away, might be torque converter or might be trans. How much would a used trans cost me and if it needs one should i still pick it u for 900 bucks. I am set on buying this car just wanted to talk to some E30 owners. BTW how much does one of these retail for?

That sounds like a good price. I'm assuming it is an auto, the first thing you could try doing is replacing the transmition fluid with some Redline ATF which has been known to cure some "hiccuping" gearboxes.

I'm not sure what the price of a new or rebuilt one would cost, you might want to check around the internet some.

That car is worth at least $3K if it didn't have the tranny problem.

Hopefully my other bmw will sell and i can pick up that M coupe as well. I really want the M coupe but the 325XI is not selling, I think i have too many Mods and people want a stock car, but in the meatime i will drive both the E46 and E30 to the thursday meets.

if you are trying to sell the 325xi for more than it's worth because of your mods, then you are gonna have probs. i tried to do that with my //m3. i couldn't sell it for shit. finally had to come down to "about face value".
anyway, if you can pick up the e30 for 900 and slap a new tranni in, i think you'll make out pretty good. like the others, i don't know exactly how much that'll runya but i'm pretty sure it'll be below what they are selling for.

I am not selling over value. I am taking my rims off and putting stock rims back on and even so I still have 13k in upgrades minus the rims and I am selling below the blue book value of the car. the car with rims has about 16k in upgrades and is a Show Winner, hopefully someone will appreciate it soon, all I have gotten lately are tire kickers.

that is exactly what i went through trying to sell the //m. there was a call a day but they were all talk and no action. it was unbeleivable. i even dropped my price below twenty for a 98 //m3 and still people just wouldn't show up. i was really hoping for an enthusiast to come look at her because i really put a lot into the upgrades for that car. the guy who got it got a real steal.
