I have a 95 e36 coupe and my car was broken into recently and they broke the drivers side window. I had the window replaced and I think the window was mounted a little too high or adjusted wrong since everytime I open or close the door, the automatic one inch down and up feature doesn't really work anymore. I hear the motor working and I see the window go up or down but it's very little movement. It's like the window is mounted too high so that when I open the door it rolls down only 1/4 of and inch instead of the full inch. Any ideas how to adjust the window so I can position the window lower? I've taken the door apart already but Im not sure which screws to mess around with.. Any ideas? Can someone look in the bentley to see if there's an adjustment method? Much appreciated.

get in car... turn engine on... close door... roll window all the way up (if it isn't) ... hold button all the way on the UP mode for about 15 seconds ... and there you go .. problem solved ... that resets the window's parameter to work on

AFAIK, yes.
At least it should work with ZKE IV equipped cars.

I've got the same problem EXACTLY on my 97 328iC, mine is the passenger side. The window goes down a bit, but not enough. The one-touch down and the pinch protection work fine. I've tried the window inititialization procedure as described above, but that hasn't worked. Anyone know of anything else to try?

Sounds like you have a bad regulator. You're going to pull the door panel off and try to figure out before you take it to a glass shop ;)
